Senior Android Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer with over 10 years of experience to join our dynamic team in Boston, MA. This role requires deep expertise in Android development, with strong proficiency in Kotlin, Core Java, and Objective-C. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in native mobile application development, automated testing, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.

• Design, develop, and prototype Android applications for smartphones and tablets, serving both internal and external users.

• Lead full application lifecycle activities: concept, design, development, deployment, testing, and release.

• Implement native Android test automation solutions using Kotlin.

• Collaborate with product teams to explore new product ideas, create prototypes, and provide accurate estimates.

• Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices within mobile development.

• Drive continuous improvement across products, processes, and development tools.

• Write and maintain comprehensive documentation for all features and development processes.

• Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness align with business objectives.

• Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve technical issues and bottlenecks.

• Manage application maintenance, updates, and publish releases to the App Store.

• Collaborate with design teams to define and refine app features.

• Proactively address bugs and optimize application performance prior to release.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• 10+ years of professional software development experience, with 5+ years focused on Android development using Kotlin and/or Java.

• Strong development expertise in Core Java.

• Proven experience with automated testing frameworks such as Appium.

• Proficient in:

  • Android SDK, native mobile app development

  • Kotlin, Objective-C, Swift, Swift UI

  • Web Services, REST APIs

  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML

  • C-based libraries and integration knowledge

• Extensive experience with Xcode and code versioning tools like Git and Bitbucket.

• Familiarity with advanced mobile features such as Biometrics, Push Notifications, Camera APIs, etc.

• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment.

• Strong focus on delivering high-quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines and unit testing.

• Demonstrated ability to lead best practices in mobile development.

• Prior experience in maintaining and automating mobile applications post-deployment.
