We are seeking a skilled and experienced SQL / Database Developer to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. This hybrid role requires a talented developer with a strong foundation in database development and data engineering. The successful candidate will work closely with business units to support, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-level database solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative data projects using cutting-edge tools and technologies such as Trino and Starburst.

  • Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain database applications to meet business requirements.

  • Work on performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL processes.

  • Implement, manage, and troubleshoot data integration workflows using tools such as Microsoft SSIS and Autosys.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable and efficient database solutions.

  • Support the implementation of new features and enhancements in Starburst or Trino/Presto environments.

  • Create and maintain documentation including data flows, architecture diagrams, and system specifications.

  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and standards.

  • Work with visualization tools such as Alteryx and Tableau to support reporting and data analysis needs.

  • Serve as a technical resource, offering guidance and expertise across projects and initiatives.

Job requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in software/database development.

    1. Proficiency in SQL and Oracle programming languages.

    2. Hands-on experience with Starburst and/or Trino (Presto).

    3. Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server including tables, views, and stored procedures.

    4. Familiarity with ETL tools and job schedulers such as Autosys.

    5. Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and SSIS for development and deployment of packages.

    6. Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Visio for documentation and reporting.

    7. Experience with data visualization and transformation tools like Alteryx and Tableau.

    8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks effectively.

    9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working in hybrid environments and collaborating across remote and in-office teams.

    • Previous involvement in managing or leading small project teams or initiatives.

    • Strong communication and documentation skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
