Employment Type: Full-Time | W2 Only
Compensation: $70/hr

We’re hiring a Network Security Engineer to lead the design, engineering, and implementation of cutting-edge security solutions in a large-scale enterprise environment. This position requires onsite presence in Jersey City, NJ, and is open only to W2 candidates located nearby.

You’ll focus on proxy-based security systems such as SASE, SSE, or SWG, with hands-on experience across major vendors like Palo Alto, Zscaler, or Netskope. Ideal candidates bring a mix of network security expertise, automation proficiency, and a collaborative mindset to innovate secure, scalable architectures.

Job requirements

  • 5+ years of network security engineering experience in large enterprise environments

    1. Hands-on expertise with SASE, SSE, or Secure Web Gateway (SWG)

    2. Experience designing/engineering with vendors such as:

      • Palo Alto

      • Zscaler

      • Netskope

    3. Proficient in scripting/devops languages:

      • Python

      • Ansible

      • Terraform

      • JSON

    4. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) and API integrations

    5. Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

    Preferred Skills

    • Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto SASE/SSE solutions

    • Deep understanding of internet/cloud DMZ architecture and load balancing

    • Experience with employee remote access technologies

    • Familiarity with stateful and application-layer firewalls

    • Experience working within Agile environments like Kanban or Scrum

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research, design, and engineer proxy-based Edge SWG, SSE, and SASE solutions

    • Engineer perimeter network security across on-prem, internet, and cloud environments

    • Automate and maintain scripts for device pave/repave and routine operations

    • Define and implement certified engineering standards and product documentation

    • Collaborate with Network Operations and Service Delivery teams

    • Act as an escalation point for high-priority network security incidents

    Technical Proficiencies

    • Infrastructure and network engineering (planning, provisioning, compliance)

    • Hardware architecture and performance monitoring

    • Microservices, Jenkins, and API security

    • Full project lifecycle delivery using Agile methodologies

    • Strong communication and ability to explain complex technical strategies to leadership

    Certifications (Preferred)

    • Vendor-specific and general technical certifications in network security, cloud platforms, or infrastructure systems
