Job Title: Sr. Cloud DevOps Engineer / SRE / Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Jersey City, NJ (Local/Nearby Candidates Only)
Employment Type: W2 Only
Work Arrangement: Onsite/Hybrid (as required by project)

Position Summary:

We are actively seeking a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer / SRE / Infrastructure Engineer with strong OpenShift expertise to support enterprise-level automation, container platform implementation, and infrastructure engineering. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with OpenShift builds and administration, strong development skills in Java or Python (with API experience), and solid virtualization background using VMware.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, install, and automate OpenShift clusters and related infrastructure.

  • Develop reusable tools, scripts, and API integrations using Java or Python.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure and DevOps teams to ensure scalability and high availability of systems.

  • Support and optimize virtualized environments using VMware.

  • Apply CI/CD practices and support large-scale cloud-native architecture deployments.

  • Monitor and manage system performance and implement platform-level automation and administration.

Job requirements

Top 3 Required Skills:

  1. OpenShift Expertise – Proven experience building, installing, and automating OpenShift clusters in an enterprise environment.

  2. Strong Development Skills – In Java or Python, especially building and integrating APIs.

  3. Virtualization Experience – Solid hands-on experience with VMware and virtual infrastructure.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with KVM, Hyper-V, or other hypervisors.

  • Exposure to Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies.

  • Experience with Kubernetes-native virtualization tools like KubeVirt.

Qualifications:

  • Proven OpenShift administration and build experience at enterprise scale.

  • Proficient in Java or Python with a strong understanding of API development.

  • Hands-on experience with VMware or other virtualization tools.

  • Solid understanding of container orchestration, cloud-native infrastructure, and automation best practices.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
