Python Developer with Capital Market

Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid – Nearby candidates only)
Employment Type: W2 Only (Visa Open)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (specific onsite/remote split can be discussed)
Experience Level: Senior-Level (Typically 7+ years)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Python Developer with strong Capital Markets experience to support regulatory and financial transformation initiatives, including FAS133 hedging and the LIBOR transition. The role will involve hands-on development on the Quartz trading platform, integration of remote risk frameworks, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to design and build scalable, fault-tolerant financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and support Python-based applications on the Quartz platform.

  • Lead development for the FAS133 hedging platform and LIBOR front-to-back migration project.

  • Ensure systems are built with proper architectural standards supporting high availability, failover, and scalability.

  • Collaborate with business analysts, product managers, and development teams to deliver regulatory solutions.

  • Implement and promote best practices across the SDLC: design, build, code review, test, and deployment.

  • Integrate services using REST APIs, manage containers, and contribute to microservices design.

  • Support CI/CD pipelines and assist with Web UI components (if applicable).

Job requirements

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Advanced proficiency in Python with a focus on enterprise-grade application development.

  • Solid understanding and usage of design patterns and architectural principles.

  • Hands-on experience with the Quartz platform, especially:

    • Remote Risk Frameworks

    • Calculators

    • Key components: Sandra, Bob, Hugs

  • Proficiency in modern integration tools:

    • REST APIs, Microservices, Containers (Docker/Kubernetes)

  • Familiarity with Web UI technologies like Angular and Spring.

  • Practical experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines.

  • Solid grasp of financial instruments such as:

    • Interest Rate Swaps

    • FX Swaps

    • Bonds

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to thrive both independently and in a collaborative team environment.

  • Clear and proactive communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Aptitude for working in a fast-paced, regulatory-driven environment.
