Duration: 12-Month Contract (High Potential for Extension)
Employment Type: W2 Only (Must have 12 months of valid work authorization)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Teradata/Hadoop Developer to join a dynamic team within the Financial Crimes Technology domain. This role involves complex data development, hands-on engineering, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders to support large-scale AML and surveillance data initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise across Teradata, Hadoop, and data provisioning, with strong Agile and DevOps exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications supporting financial crime detection and monitoring.

  • Build and optimize BTEQ scripts, TPT processes, and Hadoop pipelines (Hive, Impala, PySpark, Scala).

  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.

  • Drive data sourcing, transformation, and modeling for AML/surveillance data platforms.

  • Participate in the full SDLC, from story refinement to deployment in a CI/CD pipeline.

  • Handle platform changes, upgrades, production support coordination, and change management.

  • Analyze current state vs. future state systems and contribute to system innovations.

  • Promote best practices in data governance, security, and Agile methodology.

Job requirements

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in large-scale data-intensive environments

  • Expertise in:

    • Teradata 16.x

    • SQL/BTEQ scripting, TPT

    • Hadoop stack (Cloudera CDP, Hive, Impala, PySpark, Scala)

    • Informatica 10.x

    • UNIX shell scripting

    • Autosys job scheduling

  • Strong background in data modeling, data sourcing, and performance tuning

  • Solid understanding of CI/CD tools: Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible

  • Experience with Agile development and SDLC frameworks

  • Ability to lead development tasks across distributed environments

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Crimes domains

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
