Job Title: Staff Accountant – Tax, Bookkeeping & Payroll
Location: Kew Gardens, Queens, NY (On-site preferred)
Client: Our Client (Boutique CPA Firm)

About the Client:
Our client is a boutique CPA firm based in Queens, NY, providing high-quality accounting and tax services to individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented accountant with hands-on experience in tax preparation, bookkeeping, and payroll to join this growing practice.

Job requirements


  • Prepare federal and state tax returns using ProSeries Professional Tax, including:

    • Individuals (1040)

    • Corporations (1120, 1120S)

    • Partnerships (1065)

    • Trusts & Estates (1041)

    • Gift Tax Returns (709)

    Perform bookkeeping for multiple clients using QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online:

    • Bank and credit card reconciliations

    • Adjusting and closing entries

    • Financial statement preparation for tax use

    Handle payroll processing through QuickBooks and third-party platforms (e.g., ADP, etc.)

    Prepare and file sales tax returns (monthly, quarterly, annually) via NYS Sales Tax Web File

    Maintain client files and ensure accurate documentation and timely filings

    Assist with client communications and follow-up tasks under supervision of the CPA

    Required Qualifications:

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (required)

    • 1–3 years of experience in an accounting or tax preparation role

    • Strong working knowledge of:

      • QuickBooks Desktop & Online

      • ProSeries Professional Tax software

      • Payroll and sales tax processes

    • Excellent attention to detail, reliability, and time management

    • Able to work independently and handle confidential financial information

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Preferred (Not Required):

    • Enrolled Agent (EA) or CPA candidate

    • Experience with trust and estate taxation

    • Familiarity with multi-state tax filings

    Compensation & Benefits:

    • $45,000 – $50,000 (based on experience)
